Macrophages through the release of active oxygen can produce extracellular tumor-killing effect. The authors examined the release of H 2 O 2 from pulmonary macrophages (AM) in patients with bronchial carcinoma. AM was taken from bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid in 17 patients with untreated bronchial carcinoma and 19 control patients. AM was purified by cell adhesion and incubated overnight in 119 medium supplemented with 5% fetal bovine serum (FCS) or 5% autologous serum (AS). After the ingenol was stimulated, the release of H 2 O 2 was detected by fluorimetry. The results showed that there was no difference in the amount of H 2 O 2 released by AM in the cells cultured in FCS (mean nmol H 2 O 2/10 ~ (?) Cells / h_ (?)) ), p = 0.47). In addition, the control group AM H_2O_2 release unchanged.
