The primary screening test for new anti-malarial drugs generally uses 10 mice infected with Plasmodium falciparum at a dose of each new drug to observe whether there is any anti-malarial effect. It is necessary to use a large number of mice and the workload is large. The preferred method and procedure are: using dichotomy, set 5, 7 and 10 groups of mice to be vaccinated under the same conditions and check regularly to calculate the number of malaria parasites in each mouse. The results are analyzed by variation. There was no significant difference between the two groups, indicating that the effect of using 5 mice per time was basically the same as that of using 10 mice. This saved the use of mice and reduced the work.
