1997年11月,由本刊发表的“忧思中国语文教育”的一组文章,在文学界、文化界、教育界乃至全社会引发了长时间的讨论与反思。在舆论的推动下,初一、高一的语文教材从2000年秋天开始改革。然而注重“扩大阅读量“和”培养学生文学素养“的新教材却与旧的教育体制形成了巨大反差,而且教材本身也存在诸多不如意之处——只求考试获得高分数的学生和家长对新的语文教材能认同吗?新的语文教材的出现喜乎?忧乎?下面这组来自语文教学一线的文章,对此提出的新的忧思,无疑将引发关于中国语文教育的新一轮争论……
