In recent years, Agere Systems has focused on the development of the domestic communications semiconductor and optoelectronic communications components market. In the first half of this year, a network communication integrated circuit design center was established in Shanghai. The center will focus on the development and research of integrated circuit solutions for next-generation broadband network access and high-speed switching and transmission systems. Recently, Agere Systems and Huawei signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop a fiber optic network system for the next generation. Huawei will use Agere’s network infrastructure products and technologies to establish a communication system to provide high-speed broadband and broadband services to Chinese home and business users.
