一、台籍日本兵的由来1937年日本帝国主义发动全面的侵略战争,随着战争的不断扩大,日本国内的兵源日益枯竭。为扭转这一不利局面,日本遂在台湾募集士兵,以补充兵源。1937—1945年间,台湾总督府征募台湾民众参与军务,协助日本从事征战,一般称他们为“台籍日本兵”。所谓“台籍日本兵”的概念有狭义和广义之分。狭义上的台籍日本兵就是指直接从事作战和战争的一线人员,如军人。广义上的台籍日本兵,还包括从事支援第一线战争的后勤补给工
I. The Origin of the Taiwanese Japanese Soldiers The Japanese imperialists launched an all-out war of aggression in 1937. As the war expanded, the source of troops in Japan became depleted. To reverse this unfavorable situation, Japan then recruited soldiers in Taiwan to supplement its military sources. Between 1937 and 1945, the Taiwan Governor’s House recruited Taiwan people to participate in military affairs and assisted Japan in the campaign. They were generally called “Taiwanese Japanese soldiers.” The so-called “Taiwanese Japanese soldiers ” concept has a narrow and broad sense.
