The research team led by Sakagami Kenji, director of the Microbiology Laboratory at the Mitsubishi Chemical Institute of Life Sciences, discovered for the first time in the micro-organism novel novelty plastids that serve as genetic tasks. Plastids are generally ring-shaped, whereas plastids are only visible in the stamens of corn. The fact that the number of cells per cell is more than the number of ordinary plastids, and if cleverly utilized, is useful for the discovery of new anti-biotic substances.
