随着日本人口迅速老化和城市生活日趋紧张,人们对健康日益重视,近年在医疗及保健方面的开支有所增加,对质量好的保健产品需求很大。虽然不少日本家庭都购置了简单的保健用品,如血压计,按摩器、净水器等,但日本家庭拥有保健设备的比率仍然很低,预计这类产品的需求将日益上升。 旧本的家庭保健用品市场目前仍处于发展初级阶段,进口产品数量很少。日本在80年代初才开始生产保健设备。1989年,医疗保健产品在日本市场销量首次大幅增长,以出厂价计,市场总值高达1200亿日元。但自此之后,市场增长再度放慢。造成这种现象的原因是保健产品的使用寿命较一般电器要长,其销路往往每隔几年才出现一次周期循环。

However, since then, market growth has slowed again. The reason for this phenomenon is that the service life of health care products is longer than that of general electrical appliances, and their sales often occur only once every few years.
