Cancer has become one of the major causes of death in China.According to the 2012 Cancer Annual Report of China,cancer mortality rate was 180.54 for every 10 million individuals.The incidence of cancer likely increases yearly as China enters the aging society and younger cancer patients become common.Furthermore, many patients are diagnosed only in the advanced stage because the early detection and diagnosis of cancer remain difficult.Therefore, new anticancer drugs and treatment modes should be developed and proven in clinical trials.Clinical trials of anticancer drugs in China started in the early 1960s.National bases for anticancer drug clinical trial were initiated by the Ministry of Health of China in 1983.In 2000, National Good Clinical Practice (GCP) centers for anticancer drugs were then established by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
