Sichol beach is a very attractive traveling place and is a sheltered space for fishery and aquaculture. At the present, the coastal area has undergone many changes which affect tourism industry and lives.About 25 km long shore line and about 2,000 square kilometers of the catchment area of the third part of Peninsular East Coast were studied by using the satellite images, topographical survey and geotechnical investigation,to study the physical changes of Sichol districts coast,Nakhon Si Thamarat province,in the southern part of Thailand. The satellite images acquired from 2001 were applied and the well points were defined and were checked by the topographical survey in the year of 2010-2011.Three sub-basins; Klong Hin,Klong Tha Thon, and Klong Tha Noi,had been classified and compared in the aspects of beach features, loose sediments depositions and manmade building and facilities, based on the assumption that the study area is not affected by tidal and ocean influences. The study result reveals that most of sediments were tapped by the engineering structures and facilities,i e weir, local road, highway and housing which obstruct the transportation of sediments, which cause Sichol beachs erosion. The rate of erosion of Sichol beach is about 1.5 meters per year.Another two sub basins,Klong Hin and Klong Tha Noi present insignificant changes in terms of the beach erosion in comparison to 2001 satellite images which imply as (ⅰ) there is a difficulty of visual interpretation of the satellite images and (ⅱ) there is no coastal erosion.Topographic survey had been adopted to check the erosion of both coastal areas, but there were not any obvious changes. On the other hand,in both coastal areas, the landslide occurring in the nearby the mountainous areas have given the large amount of sediment supply which could be easily transported and deposited by water and gravity works, which implied that there were materials balances naturally. On the contrary human interference in Tha Thon sub-basin played significant role in the erosion of Sichol beach.
