The renin angiotensin system(RAS)is a current target in the treatment of hypertension and end-organs damage.The present study was designed to investigate the effects of aliskiren,a direct renin inhibitor,on renal and myocardial damage in double transgenic hypertensive(dTH)mice harboring both human angiotensinogen and renin genes.
