  In recent years,the production of transportationfuelfrom biomass by catalytichydrogenation technique has received more and more attentions.Hydrodeoxygenation(HDO)ofanisole,a representative moleculeof the methoxyphenylcomponentsgenerated by flash pyrolysis of lignocellulose biomass,has been often investigated in connection with biofuel production by bio-oil upgrading.In our group,nickel phosphide catalysts have been fully studied and show excellent performance in hydrodesulfurization reactions [1-2].In this paper,westudied the catalytic performance of nickel phosphide catalysts in the HDO of anisole.The HDO reaction was carried out in a fixed-bed reactor and using a feedstock containing anisoleinn-octane(8 wt%).Fig.1 and Fig.2 show theXRD patterns and the catalyticactivities of Ni-P/MCM-41 catalysts with different P/Nimolar ratios,respectively.The resultin Fig.1indicates that the peak intensity corresponding to Ni2P phase increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of P/Ni ratio.The result in Fig.2shows that decreasing the P/Ni ratio and increasing the reaction temperature both lead to the increase of the anisole conversion.The results show that nickel phosphide provides a good option of HDO catalysts for the useof upgraded bio-oil.
