Objective: The aim is to evaluate the association between baseline platelet count (PC) and severe adverse outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in current real-world practice both at short-term and long-term follow-up.Methods: A total of 18788 patients underwent PCI and implanted with drug eluting stents constituted the study population.Patients were categorized as having low (< 150×l000/μl) , normal (150-300×l000/μl) , and high (≥ 300×l000/μl) baseline PC.The average length of in-hospital stay was 8±6 days and the mean length of follow-up was about 2 years (25 ± 17 months). The primary endpoints included in-hospital and follow-up all-cause mortality.
