lgG4-related systemic disease is a newly recognized diseasc cntity.It is characterized by clevatcd circulating levels of IgG4 and by the infiltration of organ systems with IgG4-cxpressing plasma cells accompanied by fibrosis.This disease entity was first recognized to involve the pancreas as auto-immune pancreatitis.It is now known to involve diverse organ systems including salivary glands, kidneys, hmgs, thyroid, heart, mediastinum, retroperitoneum, and aorta.
