  The Permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSMs)are increasingly popular in automotive driving applications be- cause of their high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density and high efficiency. For PMSM, usually a shaft position sensor such as a position encoder or a resolver is fitted to provide rotator position signal that is used to maintain an appropriate space angle between the stator and rotor fields. On automotive, due to limitations such as cost, assemble space, the sensor-less control method is required to im- plement. This paper introduces sensor less & FOC solution for a PM motor drive based on Infineon microcontroller AURIX TC27x. In this solution, a single shunt is used to sample the DC current, which derives 3-phase currents. In low speed, V/F starting method is used to accelerate the motor up to a limit frequency because the back electricmotive force(BEMF)is very small and hard to detect. In higher range, flux estimation method is used to calculate the rotator angle. A "ramp speed command" starting profile is implemented and adopt- ed to provide a smooth startup transient and speed adjusting.
