Budotitane, one ofthe metal-based antineoplastic complexes, offers some advantages due to the efficacy to modify cellular metabolic pathways.Recently, our studies have demonstrated an effective blood-testis barrier associated with budotitane.Studies were now conducted to investigate the effects of a single dose of budotitane on sperm quality.Twenty four ICR-CD1 mice (two months old, 30g body weight) were divided randomly into 4 groups.Budotitane was subcutaneously administered into mice in a single dose (0.12mg/g body weight), and kept for 72h (group 1).Group 2 of animals were injected similarly, and kept for 38 days without any treatment.Control animals (groups 3-4) received 0.9% saline solution only, and were kept for equal periods of time.After the experimental periods all animals were sacrificed for epididymis removal.Caudal epididymal fluid was analyzed for sperm quality (concentration, motility, vitality, and morphology).
