Posterior lateral line(pLL)system is produced by migrating pLL primordium(pLLp).Chemokine signaling,Notch,Wnt and FGF signaling regulate migration or proliferation of pLLp cells,or formation of neuromasts.Deposition of protoneuromasts is regulated by lef1-dependent cells proliferation,however,the mechanism of neuromast deposition remians to be explored.Identification of novel genes expressed in depositing protoneuromasts will certainly help the study as such.
