Two experiments were conducted to investigate the immune responses and cellular energy allocation (CEA) of Zhikong scallop Chlamys farreri under the acute Vibro anguillarum (5×106 CFU mL-1) challenge. The survival of scallops during 0-144 h post V.anguillarum challenge was investigated in Experiment Ⅰ.The substantial mortalities appeared at 96-144 h post challenge, implying that prolonged exposure to V.anguillarum is likely main occasion for the increase of mortality. The immune parameters and cellular energy allocation of scallops suffered V.anguillarum challenge were investigated in Experiment Ⅱ.At 24 h and 96 h after challenge, significantly higher level of O2-and catalase or superoxide dismutase activities were observed in serum of challenged scallops compared across control (P<0.05).
