  Recent trends of mushroom consumption and adverse reactions in Thailand are examined in this presentation.It focuses on recent literature and observations regarding mushroom consumption.Common poisoning scenarios are illustrated as well as suggestions for the general public and medical professionals.The text also enumerates the currently available species as well as species that will likely be cultivated and consumed in the near future.Comments from the literature regarding the future medicinal and nutritional directions of mushroom research are also made.Future generations will be much more exposed to mushrooms not only from a culinary standpoint, but also through nutritional supplements and medicinal products.
