Objective: Noise-induced hearing loss has been associated with alterations in cochlear blood flow. This study analyzed the expression of vascular endothelial Methodology: Acoustic trauma was induced by white noise at 120 dB SPL for 4 h.Auditory function was evaluated by the auditory brainstem response (ABR) threshold in control (noise-unexposed) rats and in experimental rats at 5 time points after noise exposure.Noise-induced cochlear morphological changes were studied by immunohistochemistry and scanning electron microscopy.VEGF expression was examined by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting analysis. The EPC number was analyzed by flow cytometry of peripheral blood CD34+/CD 133+ cells.
