Laminated composite sandwich plates have been used to fabricate many high performance structures which may be subjected to different kinds of dynamic loads.It is not uncommon that such plates are restrained by peripheral and/or internal flexible supports and used to carry masses distributed on the plate surface.To avoid the occurrence of resonance or use the vibration data of the composite sandwich plate for health monitoring, the modal characteristics of the plate must be predicted accurately and effectively.In this paper, a method for determining the modal characteristics of rectangular composite sandwich plates is presented.
