Insect wing diversity is evident among the different orders, families and genera. This diversity is expressed by the disparity of structures of the wing, its size, shape, arrangement and number of veins and veinlets, as well as by the presence of additional structures. This diversity was and still is used for diagnostics, classification, and phylogeny purposes. However, the proper identification and homologization of the veins and establishment of appropriate terminology is still far from being completed. This is the case for numerous Hemiptera Fulgoroidea (Bourgoin et al.2013: this congress) despite the first interpretation of the homologies of the wing venations of Fulgoroidea presented by Muir (1913).
