  Harbin Dipole eXperiment (HDX),a new terrella device for laboratory studies of space physics relevant to the inner magnetospheric plasmas,is scheduled to be built at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT),China.HDX is one of two essential parts of Space Plasma Environment Research Facility (SPERF),which is a major national research facility for space physics studies.HDX is designed to provide a laboratory experimental platform to reproduce the earths magnetospheric configuration for investigations on the mechanism for acceleration/loss and wave-particle interaction of energetic particles in radiation belt,and on the influence of magnetic storms on the inner magnetosphere.
