There have been rapid changes in the organizations, particularly those in the developing countries. This has brought about the need for information technology in these organizations. As many institutions and organizations continue to embrace and extensively invest in modem technology with huge amounts of resources channelled to new IT,assessing and evaluating the potential significance, benefits, and acceptance of these new technologies are critical. The research into information technology utilizations and adoptions has been driven by the need to anticipate the factors that leading to information technology usage. The success of systems such as the decision support is determined and influenced by a wide range of factors based on their adoption technique as well as application areas. This argued from the fact that if any new technology is easy accepted and conveniently adopted, there is a high possibility of the system and its investment to have a successful impact on the institution. The majority of studies related to the adoption and utilization of information technology have conducted in the developed countries. This research aimed at utilizing data collected to identify and examine a set of factors that influence technology acceptance and adoption and utilization of decision support systems(DSS)in developing countries. In this research, data were collected and used to investigate, examine and identify a set of factors that influence successful adoption and utilization of the decision support system in the developing countries.A questionnaire was designed to rate the successful adoption, utilization, and implementation of the DSS in the developing countries.Different techniques and methods were used to analyse the collected data. The study provides an empirical evidence and it is first in its nature to investigate the decision support system(DSS)in the context of technology acceptance and explains many complex factors crucial to linkages like user awareness(UA),perceived usefulness(PU),perceived ease(PE),and user training(UT)in the context to determine the decision support system(DSS). The findings showed that user awareness of decision support system importance, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use had direct and indirect effects on successful adoption of decision support systems. This research identified several direct and indirect factors influence the successful adoption and utilization of DSS in developing countries. The researcher formulated a framework model to summarize results of the relationships, direct and indirect effects. The study findings could represent a starting point for further studies to cover other factors influencing the DSS adoption and facilitate decision makers to avoid failure of DSS in developing countries. The mediation of the technology acceptance(TA)provides clear evidence for the consideration of the top managers to attain efficacious adoption of the(DSS).The empirical findings of the study in the context of Libyan Higher Education can be replicate in other developing countries.
