健美操融体操、舞蹈、音乐为一体,以追求人的健身、健美、健心和娱乐为目标,是具有很强的普及性、艺术性、娱乐性和创造性的运动项目,它以自我塑造,追求健与美协调统一的发展而广为大学生所接受,并给大学校园人文环境注入了无限生机与活力。通过指导女大学生进行三个月的大众健美操练习,测定比较练习前后相关的健康体适能指标。表明练习大众健美操对增强高校女大学生的健康体适能,提高其健康水平有着积极重要的作用。
