Since famous Chinese medicine tiger bones have been included in the “Doctors Don’t Record,” the skeletal traditional Chinese medicine has been used in medicine in China for more than 1,400 years. According to records, there are nearly 30 species of animal bone medicine in China. In recent years, few skeletal traditional Chinese medicines such as tiger bones and leopard bones are in scarce resources, and other mammalian bones have been sold off as counterfeits, causing confusion in drug inspection work. The identification of skeletal traditional Chinese medicines is mainly based on modern anatomical methods, and they are distinguished based on the morphological characteristics of different parts of the skeleton. Therefore, skeletal Chinese medicine specimens are indispensable for the identification of Chinese medicine. This article refers to related anatomy techniques and combines many years of work practices to introduce skeletal Chinese medicine specimens.
