The first batch of 66 overseas scientists have returned to the motherland from the United States, Japan, Germany and Britain. After fierce competition, they have taken the important positions in over 40 research institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and have taken the lead in leading-edge scientific issues. In an interview with reporters, the person in charge of science and technology cadres at the Personnel Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said in an interview that in the next three years, they will be responsible for accomplishing the frontiers of 78 fields identified by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 95 important directions.
