爱因斯坦说:“教育就是当一个人把在学校所学的全部忘光之后剩下的东西。”对于小学科学教育,学生学习的绝不仅仅是会被遗忘的、会过时的科学知识、概念,而应该是科学的核心概念。而在以往的小学科学复习课中,看到更多的是将知识总结、归纳灌输给学生,没有从培养学生科学素养的角度出发,而在小学科学课中,单元复习课是一个单元科学小概念的总结,起到完善知识结构、扩展知识技能的作用,是整个单元各课小概念的汇总,因此更容易形成上一层次的科学核心概念,从而培养学生的学习能力,促进他们对生活相关事件和现象的理解。通过在复习课中搭建单元内容过程性出现、单元内容对照呈现、梳理单元教学重点三个载体,促进学生科学核心概念的养成。
