在清末政教转型和新学制草创的过程中,包括文字训诂和诗赋词章在内,广义上的文学教育被纳入了“通国一律”的制度框架,作为国民教育系统中的一门课程,充实着近代国家在时空两个维度上的文化共同体。本文拟在官民、京外、中外资源互动的视野下,对勘中日教育史料,侧重中小学阶段的普通教育,考察“中国文辞”如何从危急时势下的“无用之学”升格为近代学制不可或缺的一门教科,进而探索制度设计作为一种“思想潜势力”的可能性。
