Metaphor uses this metaphor as a metaphor and expresses something as something else similar to it. It is a metaphorical metaphor implying comparisons, but not sufficiently speaking of such comparisons. Metonymy refers to a kind of rhetorical device that can be used to replace a thing with the name of a thing when it is not similar but has a close relationship with it. The focus of metonymy is not on “similar”; but on “associative”. Synecdoche A metaphor that does not directly say the name of a thing, but rather a rhetorical device that expresses things by the corresponding phenomena presented by the thing itself.
