Purpose Although cavernous hemangiomas grow both in the brain and outside the brain, although the names are the same, the clinical manifestations, the difficulty of surgery, and the postoperative effects vary greatly. They may have different histological subtypes, this article attempts to further classify this tumor. Methods A retrospective analysis of 25 cases of intracranial cavernous hemangiomas surgically treated since 1981 in our hospital was conducted. Results According to the clinical manifestations, intraoperative findings and pathological examination of 25 patients were divided into 2 types and 3 types: type Ⅰ: the lesions were located in the brain, 15 cases were completely resected tumors, postoperative symptoms improved; Ⅱ a type: 5 cases, lesions located in the brain, tumor resection is extremely difficult. Ⅱ b type: brain lesions, 5 cases, the tumor contains more substantive components, can be completely removed. Conclusion The further classification of intracranial cavernous hemangiomas contributes to the understanding and management of such tumors
