The role of regulatory T (Treg) cells in the pathogenesis of obesity and its related diseases is becoming a research hotspot. Studies have shown that the number of Treg cells or dysfunction in visceral adipose tissue may be related to the abnormal secretion of leptin. The benefits of exercise on obesity and its associated diseases are attributed, in part, to the anti-inflammatory effects of exercise, which increase energy expenditure and have a major impact on the important energy-metabolizing hormone, leptin. This article reviews the effects of exercise on Treg cells and leptin in obese and the role of Treg cells and leptin in motor and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
