The damage of DNA in peripheral blood lymphocytes of 115 benzene-exposed workers was detected by comet assay (thealkalinesinglecellgel, SCG). Workers were divided into benzene poisoning group, high-concentration exposure group, low-concentration exposure group and control group (workers without exposure to benzene). The results showed that DNA damage rate in benzene poisoning group was significantly higher than that in control group, but no significant difference between high concentration exposure group and low concentration exposure group and control group. Indicating that long-term exposure to high concentrations of benzene sensitive workers DNA damage significantly. DNA damage and the occurrence and development of benzene-related leukemia is relevant, pending further study.
