Near the mouth of the Yangtze River, a fertile land was bred and it was the “spire” of China’s economy - twelve counties in Jiangsu, Wuxi and Changzhou, commonly known as the Soviet Union, the Tin and the Changzhou. Call it a “spire” and be worthy of the name. In 1988, the region achieved its goal of a per capita gross national product of 800 U.S. dollars for 12 years in advance. Last year, the industrial output value created in this region was 157.31 billion yuan and the fiscal revenue was over 5 billion yuan. This year, according to the composite index, the relevant departments of the country ranked the “top 100” counties in the comprehensive rural economic strength in the country. The first, second and third places were all Soviet, tin and permanent ones. Of the top 10, 6 out of the top 10 were in this area . Today, the shock waves from the world economic restructuring that come across the other side of the ocean meet again with the heat flow that China flocks to the world economic arena, converging and colliding. A new “economic orogeny” is surging on this flat impact plains.
