Artificial interpretation of satellite imagery from remote sensing is often used to estimate the area of dryland cereal production in the coastal area of central California and to monitor the area and extent of soil and water conservation measures for a five-year period on the Central Coast of California. Use a 35mm positive slide to zoom in and record on a single basemap, using 80.8% full classification accuracy to correctly map both conventional and soil conservation plots. Due to the frequent changes in cultivation practices in some areas and satellite coverage defects, the commission error for mapping the map of soil and water conservation farming was 71%. With the aid of corrected information and specialized training on satellites, such basic satellite systems can be used to map and monitor the range of conventional farming and soil conservation practices.
