法学已经成为一门显学，但法学体系内部各个分支学科的受重视程度也正日趋失调。应用法学逐渐受宠，理论法学渐遭冷落，尤其是法史学。要唤起人们的重视以改变这种状况，必须充分认识法史学的功能。本文把法史学的功能概括为：人文精神的教养功能、理论思维的训练功能、客观现实的干预功能，并进一步强调，法史学作为理论法学的一个分支。必须得到重视，否则，宽口径、厚基础的人才培养模式就无从谈起。
Law has become a significant study, but the degree of attention of various branches within the legal system is becoming increasingly imbalanced. Applied law gradually favored, the theory of law was neglected, especially the law history. To arouse people’s attention to change this situation, we must fully understand the function of law and history. This article summarizes the functions of the law of the history of law as follows: the humanistic spirit of the function of education, the theoretical thinking of the training function, the objective reality of the intervention function, and further stressed that law and history as a branch of theoretical jurisprudence. Must be given attention, otherwise, wide-caliber, thick-based personnel training model can not talk about.
