无线局域网是计算机网络与无线通信技术相结合的产物,不需要铺设双绞线、同轴电缆或光纤等线 缆,而是利用射频无线电或红外线,借助直接序列扩频(DSSS)或跳频扩频(FHSS)等技术,甚至是将来的 超宽带传输技术(UWBT),实现固定、半移动及移动的网络终端对INTERNET进行较远距离的高速连接访 问。因为无须支出布线方面的花费,所以节约了很大一部分LAN的安装和维护的费用,比有线LAN更具有 明显的优势。
Wireless LAN is a combination of computer network and wireless communication technology. It does not need to lay the cables such as twisted-pair cable, coaxial cable or fiber optic cable. Instead, it uses radio frequency radio or infrared ray and uses direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) or frequency hopping (FHSS) and even UWBT in the future to enable fixed, semi-mobile and mobile network terminals to access the INTERNET at a higher speed over longer distances. Because there is no need to pay for wiring expenses, so a large part of the LAN to save the installation and maintenance costs, more than the wired LAN has obvious advantages.
