我曾泛读过冈布里奇写的《艺术史话》,其中有一章节叫“东方一瞥”,大部份内容讲中国艺术。外国人讲起中国绘画实在有趣,他认为中国艺术家画在绢,纸上的卷轴画,是“保存在精美的容器里,只是在心静的时候才打开,一面看一面沉思,就像一个人打开一本诗集,反复读一个美妙的诗句一样”。他又认为中国绘画是冥思的结果,在画中所要表现的是精神和崇高的目的,并且中国艺术家希望观者能在作品中看出“艺术家的激情和热诚的明显踪迹”。一个对中国文化一知半解的外国学者也能凭其艺术本能体味出中国绘画的一些奥秘,的确耐人寻味。
I have read extensively the “History of Art” written by Gonbridge. There is a chapter called “Glimpse of the East,” most of which deals with Chinese art. It is interesting for foreigners to talk about Chinese painting. He believes that Chinese artists’ scroll paintings on silk and paper are “preserved in exquisite containers and only opened when they were quiet. They looked as if they were opened by one person A collection of poems, repeated reading a wonderful verse. ” He also believes that Chinese painting is the result of meditation, in which the artist aims to show his spiritual and lofty goals, and Chinese artists hope that the viewer will see in his works “the obvious traces of passion and zeal of the artist.” A foreign scholar who knows little about Chinese culture can also appreciate some of the mysteries of Chinese painting by virtue of his artistic instincts. Indeed, it is intriguing.
