目的:通过对昆明医科大学2011级新生英语语言学习需求的调查,了解医学新生英语学习的时间、课程、教学内容的需求,旨在对今后医学院校英语课程设置、英语教学管理提供理论依据。通过两年后追踪调查,对根据此前调查结果所设置的专业英语课程进行评估,以期改进。方法:采取系统抽样的方法,抽取了昆明医科大学2011级新生中学号为双号的1045名新生为被调查对象,采取自行设计的问卷,研究医学新生英语学习需求。两年后,对选修了多门专业英语课程的135名学生进行追踪调查。结果:(1)昆明医科大学新生对于英语专业信息期待较高(x±s=4.12±0.91),对现行大学英语教学基本满意(x±s=2.97±0.82).(2)12.4%的新生认为大学英语课程应该至少开设到大三,58.8%的新生认为整个大学阶段都应该开设。41.3%的新生希望开设医学专业英语课程,48.2%的新生希望开设英语口语课程。(3)选修后,超过80%的学生认为《解剖英语》、《医学英语阅读》、《临床诊疗英语》课程最为实用。结论及建议:大力发展医学英语课程,应在整个大学期间全面推行双语教学;大学英语课程类型设置并非越多越好,应加大医学基础知识及技能型选修课的设置,并定期对其调查评估。
OBJECTIVE: To understand the needs of medical freshmen ’s English learning time, curriculum and teaching content by investigating the needs of 2011 freshmen in Kunming Medical University to provide theoretical basis for the setting of English curriculum and English teaching management in medical colleges and universities. After two years of follow-up surveys, professional English courses based on previous findings were evaluated for improvement. Methods: A systematic sampling method was used to extract 1045 freshmen with double-number of 2011 new middle school in Kunming Medical University as survey subjects, and to take a self-designed questionnaire to study the medical freshmen’s English learning needs. Two years later, 135 students who took multiple professional English courses were followed up. Results: (1) Freshmen in Kunming Medical University had a higher expectation of English professional information (x ± s = 4.12 ± 0.91), satisfied with the current college English teaching (x ± s = 2.97 ± 0.82). (2) Freshmen That college English courses should be opened to junior, 58.8% of freshmen think the entire university stage should be opened. 41.3% of freshmen want to open a medical English course, while 48.2% of freshmen want to have a spoken English course. (3) After the elective, more than 80% of the students think that “Anatomy English”, “Medical English Reading” and “Clinical English Teaching” are the most practical courses. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: To develop medical English curriculum vigorously, bilingual teaching should be carried out throughout the university.
