The formation of Japanese corporate culture has a long history, and the management concept of corporate culture was first proposed by Stanley M. Davis, a professor at Boston University in the early 1980s. He found through comparison studies between Japan and the United States that the key to the success of many outstanding companies in Japan is not simply the organizational structure, administrative skills, economic resources, methods, and even science and technology. What is more important is the ability to reflect corporate traditions and characteristics. The basic philosophy, spirit, and motivation motives rooted in the majority of employees are the existence and continuation of Japanese corporate culture.
