我酷爱戏曲。这些年来,在戏曲创作上下过一些笨功夫,大戏小戏确也写了不少。然而说起来可怜,成功者却寥寥无几。有几出戏虽然可以勉强演出、发表,但也是粗糙得很,相去甚远。象我这样的剧作者,也居然来奢谈什么写戏之法,实在是荒唐之至。然而确也有一腔甘苦之言,倒出来,或许对初学写戏的同行略有补益。写戏,主要是为了演出。没有一个剧作者不希望自己的作品能在舞台上立起来。然而客观事实却很无情,剧作者的作品,包括在刊物上发表的剧作,相当一部分都未能搬上舞台。这除了一些别的原因之外,我觉得还有一条原因,就是剧作者不熟悉剧团,不熟悉舞台,所以这些作品,还不完全具备演出的条件。
