Luminary Micro, a maker of ARM-based microcontrollers, was founded in 2004 as the first company to offer the ARM-based Cortex family of microcontrollers to the market. According to Jean Anne Booth, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, the device was built “by enabling us to develop and launch a $ 1 ARM device for sale,” and the company was founded on it. The first two components developed by Luminary are the LM3S101 and the LM3S102. The company names these two components the Stellaris family: they all use the Cortex M3 core. The company’s targets are embedded and industrial applications and are using the Cortex M3 for deterministic computing (and 32-bit architectures) in these areas. The fixed response to the interrupt helps to achieve real-time embedded control, but also has the ability to fully integrate capabilities. Users can micro-control a sensor interface
