The proposition of individuation seizes and explains the essential mode of social change in western society. In the course of social changes in China, individualization shows the Chinese’s social relations. China’s individualization is different from that of the West. Individualization of Chinese society is limited by individuality. This limitation is not only reflected in the norms of the state and the phenomenon of “unethical individuals”, but also reflected in the traditional social order and ethical characteristics of individualization, which is reflected in the restriction of community opinion on individualism. Through the analysis of the individualized case of Xishui village, this paper argues that the traditional moral world, the restriction of community opinion and the individualization of unprofessional individuals are intertwined, and they all play an important role in the personal conception and behavior of modern young people. The individualization of Chinese society is limited by the original kinship, community opinion, local ethics, and the traditional social order and ethics intertwined with the limited individual.
