华裔女作家聂华苓于2003年出版其传《三生三世》,叙述其漂泊跌宕的一生。她在自传的序言中说:“我是一棵树,根在大陆,干在台湾,枝叶在爱荷华。”她的一生跨越了数个地域及文化疆界,其自我认同也因此交错重叠,呈现出有趣的迷乱现象。其书历经三次改版,却变得愈加厚重繁复而不易理解,其中反映的是极其复杂的写作考虑。她的自传呈现出如此驳杂面向的原因,是因为她想传达的不仅仅是自己一生的故事,还有她对自己的各种认同。聂华苓的生命表述,交织了多元身份,涵盖了民族、性别、家族、政治、人道主义者,以及离散身份。2013年,导演陈安琪历时3年,遍访各国(地区),把聂华苓的故事拍成纪录片,重新整合她的多重身份。并且以和原书完全不同的影像叙事形态,排列整理了她的人生故事。影片的重点在于聂华苓的文学成就,而这恰好是自传中不大提的部分。本文将由其自传入手,探讨书中的自我认同与离散叙事;其次将研究电影的拍摄手法,以明了不同媒介,即影像与自传的异同。

In 2013, director Angela Chan spent three years in various countries (regions) making the story of Nie Hualing a documentary and re-integrating her multiple identities. And arranges the story of her life completely differently from the original book. The focus of the film is on the literary achievements of Nie Hualing, which happens to be part of the less autobiographical essay. This article will start from its own autobiography to explore the book’s self-identity and discrete narrative; secondly, study the filming techniques to understand the different media, the similarities and differences between images and autobiography.
