In 1978, Nanjing City and Nagoya City of Japan became sister cities. In 79, Nagoya City decided to present a pair of giraffes to Nanjing. Nanjing chose to build a giraffe house in the Xuanwu Lake Park Zoo. The concept of architecture strives to innovate. The facade is designed as an image of the two deers. It symbolizes friendship between China and Japan. The natural gables on both sides of the gable are affixed with ice cracks to reflect the giraffe’s epidermis, with a large glass window in the middle of the giraffe, forming a strong virtual reality.
