The third-grade green building design course introduces “Adaptability ” requirements into the design topics of “Existing Building Re-use” to help students understand the ecological perspectives and strategies related to building renovation and learn how to find out both Has its own characteristics and ecological potential of the building, and applies the relevant methods and techniques to design a comfortable space which not only meets the function replacement requirement, but also obtains the performance improvement, low energy consumption, energy efficiency and environment friendliness. This design project focuses on the study and application of passive eco-technology methods, including the use of space to regulate the microclimate, the improvement of the thermal performance of the envelope and the guidance and enhancement of natural lighting and natural ventilation. The results of teaching once again show that only architectural design that takes into account factors such as function, space, structure, energy performance and comfort is a well-recognized “green” design.
