大单１号是云南省大关县农技中心玉米组育成，组合为墨１８１×木６。该品种属中晚熟玉米品种。从播种至成熟需＞１０℃活动积温２６８０℃。在１９８７～１９９６年各类产量试验和示范推广中表现高产稳产，品质好，食味佳，抗逆性强。在适宜密度４５０００～５２５００株／ｈ下比对照墨白１号增产２８６％。适宜在云南省滇东北二半山及其以下墨白１号种植区或类似气候地区推广种植。制种父母本错期播种，父母本行比１∶４或１∶５，制种产量可达３０００～４５００ｋｇ／ｈ。
