弧光碳棒的主要技术指标是光的强度,其次是燃烧消耗率,当然弧光稳定也是必要条件。自从采用弧光碳棒作为电影放映光源至今已将近60余年,在这数十年中,弧光碳棒的重大技术改革分为两个阶段:第一阶段1920年~1935年称为低强弧光碳棒或称纯碳棒,第二阶段1935年到现在称为高强弧光碳棒或称发光剂碳棒。
