OBJECTIVE: To investigate the feasibility of using ice caps for the early preservation of hypothermia in patients with cardioversion (CA) at the site of resuscitation and its effect on the success rate of recovery and neurological outcome. Methods: Forty-eight outpatients with CA who were admitted to our hospital from January 2011 to January 2013 were randomly divided into early hypothermia group (n = 25) and control group (n = 23). The recovery rate, survival rate and survival rate score. Results: Head-preserving hypothermia treatment effectively reduced the ear temperature and significantly improved the GCS score of surviving patients, and to some extent, improved the survival rate of discharge. Conclusion: Early cryogenic preservation of the head in resuscitation site can improve the prognosis of patients with survival after resuscitation.
