矿产资源的开发利用在产生巨大经济效益的同时造成了地质环境的破坏,通过对矿体赋存特征,土地资源占用和破坏,地下水含水层破坏、地形地貌景观地质遗迹破坏以及矿山地质灾害等问题的分析研究,全面评价矿山地质环境问题的发育程度、表现特征和成因,并对其发展趋势、危害对象、危害程度和防治难度及建设场地的适宜性进行分析论证和评估。制定矿山地质环境保护与恢复治理方案、技术方法和监测措施,提高矿产资源开发利用效率,避免和减少矿区生态环境破坏和污染,实现矿产资源开发与矿山生态环境保护协调发展。
