This article reviews Claude Simon, a famous contemporary French novel writer, published in the Frankfurter, West Germany, Issue 3, 1979. Simon is one of the early representatives of France’s “New Novels.” In his opinion, the novelist’s task is not to explain the world, but to describe the world “itself”, as he said, to “translate” what is now into words and words. He often adopts the method of reminiscence, which is described in his recollection in the present tense. His autobiographical novel “On Flanders Boulevard” is a typical representative. This work is called “modern memory novels.” The works of the “New Fiction” are generally obscure and, in most of the works, the authors have listed a series of articles by an almost personalityless figure called Antihelden Indiscriminate details depict “the general history of mankind”, enabling readers to see that human beings, meaningless, live and die. Simon also opposed the writers with political orientation, advocating the description of “self”. Now the translation is as follows.
